Discovering Danilo's Pasta Bar at East End Market

Located upstairs in the vibrant East End Market, in a shared space with the Neighbors cocktail bar, Danilo's Pasta Bar offers a delightful culinary experience that combines the essence of authentic Italian cuisine with a modern twist. Recently, we had the pleasure of dining there.

Danilo's Pasta Bar presents diners with two distinct options: à la carte dining or the Chef's Counter experience. Both promise a journey through delectable flavors, but there are notable differences to consider.

- **À la Carte**: Ideal for a casual meal, the à la carte option allows you to select individual dishes at your leisure.

- **Chef's Counter**: For a more immersive experience, the Chef's Counter provides a curated multi-course meal, complete with personal interactions with the chef and a deeper dive into the intricacies of each dish. This option, priced at $86 or $146, also comes with the added perk of real plates and silverware, enhancing the overall dining experience.

**The Pasta Bar Experience

- $86 Chef's Tasting or $146 Grand Tasting

- 6 or 10 course gastronomic experience served family-style at the Chef's counter

- Includes chef's snacks, curated pasta, plus seasonal and locally inspired courses

During our visit, we sampled several standout dishes that showcased the culinary expertise of Danilo's team:

- **Bison Meatball Appetizer**: These tasty meatballs were a perfect start to our meal, offering a unique twist on a classic appetizer. They went very well with the bread.

- **Mushroom Bucatini**: Rich and earthy, the Mushroom Bucatini was a highlight, featuring perfectly cooked pasta and a deeply flavorful sauce. This was my favorite menu item.

- **Wagyu Bolognese**: The Wagyu Bolognese was a hearty and satisfying main course, with the high-quality beef adding a luxurious touch to the traditional dish. I liked the shape of this pasta.

The fact that Danilo's shares it's space with the Neighbors cocktail bar means they have a extensive drink menu. We tried a cocktail and some wine.

The atmosphere at Danilo's is warm and inviting, with thoughtful decor that complements the culinary journey. The service was commendable, with attentive staff ensuring a pleasant dining experience.

One aspect that stood out, however, was the use of disposable plates and plastic utensils for à la carte diners. While the food itself was delightful, the disposable dinnerware detracted from the overall experience. On the other hand, diners at the Chef's Counter enjoyed the added elegance of actual plates and silverware.

Danilo's Pasta Bar operates within the dynamic East End Market, making it a convenient and accessible dining destination for locals and visitors alike. Be sure to check their hours before planning your visit to ensure a seamless experience.

In summary, Danilo's Pasta Bar offers a memorable dining experience with a few caveats. Whether you opt for the casual à la carte option or the more refined Chef's Counter, you're in for a treat with their expertly crafted dishes. Just keep in mind the difference in dining ware when making your choice.
